OK I have to add to the potty journal

I AM IN SHOCK!!! I am talking fall over on the floor, heart stops beating SHOCK!
DS had a dry diaper ALLLLLL DAYYYYYYY!!! He has pottied in his potty 6...SIX...times today!!! SIX!!! Did you catch that??? Wow, I am so proud of him! He wore his big boy pants for about an hour and a half this morning and he did START to have an accident on the floor, but came running full speed at me saying....
"Mommmmmmyyy POOTTTTYYY!!!!" So we went RUNNING into the bathroom, yanked off the wet Spiderman pants and sat...and he STILL pottied!!! He had stopped himself when he realized he was starting to go in his big boy pants!!! AACKKK!!! Its a miracle!! I thought I was going to be the only mom bring my poor kid to Kindergarten in diapers!! I was concerned that they werent going to make diapers large enough for him when he was 12...BUT HE IS GETTING IT!!! YEAH!!!! Ok....done raving about the joys of potty training!!! Only mothers would understand this kind of pride!!! Thanks for listening!!!! :D

LOL. Your potty story had me giggling! It gave me visions of the experiences that Carrie has ahead of her in the next few years after baby Ryan is born in Feb. Congrats on the success....hope it continues!

Oh Nicole I really understand how happy you are. Huge congrats. We've only just managed to get to poop in the potty and now she is doing every time. Its a fantastic feeling. We seem to be very lucky at night as well. Only a few accidents over the last month and thats cos she has fallen asleep before we can get her to go potty for the night. But congrats to you .... isn't it such a relief.

Marvelous! Can you please send YOUR son over to MY son to show him the wonders of going on the potty? Watching big brother and daddy hasn't helped. "Target practice" doesn't help, as he won't even GO in the potty. Bribes, stickers, M&Ms - all no luck.

He turned 3 in May. MAY! His preschool is being ULTRA lenient, as they're supposed to be fully potty-trained, and he goes in a pull-up. It's full to near bursting when we get home, but so far (since September,) no at-school accidents.

I'm so frustrated. His pediatrician says not to be concerned. And my oldest son didn't potty-train until he was 39 months (but it only took a couple of days, because he WAS ready.) I don't know.

Congrats on your accomplishments, and that of your little guy. Send some PT vibes my way, eh?

I know the feeling about the grown man in diapers still. My first was in Kindergarten before he stopped wearing pull-ups. Not sure what I did wrong with him but my little one learned from zero to dry all day and night in 2 weeks. Go figure... love the story.

Mine is only two months, so I don't know the "joys" of potty training, yet, but I am SO excited for you, anyway! Congratulations!

Yeah Nicole! We've been diaper free in our house now for about a month, minus last week when he was sick with a nasty stomach bug! I am celebrating with you. It's amazing when they finally get it, how easy it seems. Now be ready to visit the bathroom 6 times during a 45 minute trip to the grocery just because you aren't exactly sure how long they can hold it!

Yay that is exciting. My son was the same way. I thought he would never be potty trained.

Congrats on the potty training success. I am going through the same thing. My son has finally started cooperating and yesterday was the first day he went all day in the same pair of underpants. It's so exciting. He actually even went poop on the potty...sorry maybe too much info, but it really is a big step. We had been trying for so long and he finally gets it. So, I understand what you are going through. Only a mother would understand.
