They're fun, light reading.

I was checking on Barnes & Noble recently, and it looks like Evanovich is coming out with 2 "in between the numbers" Plum books. I think they're coming out early in 2009. I've read all the Plum books. One of my favorite scenes is when Lula throws her *ahem* undergarment at the Tom Jones impersonator (I believe it was described as a "king kong thong" lol), and then tries to take it back when she realizes he's not really Tom Jones. Too funny!

Merry Christmas!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5187636663015565979.post-27415571380835559052008-12-19T08:07:00.000-06:002008-12-19T08:07:00.000-06:00Ohhh...I'm a Ranger girl...dark and mysterious alw...Ohhh...I'm a Ranger girl...dark and mysterious always has it's appeal. ;D LOVE the Stephanie Plum novels! Hmm...if you like Janet Evanovich you may like Katie MacAllister. She's laugh out loud funny. ;D She writes both contemporary humorous romance novels, and she writes some with a paranormal twist(I love the Aisling Grey novels).Designs by Hellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05981339610421770168noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5187636663015565979.post-84851952621696275452008-12-17T11:51:00.000-06:002008-12-17T11:51:00.000-06:00I wasn't sure if you allow it but I used your Plum...I wasn't sure if you allow it but I used your Plum Heaven kit to make my current blog header. :)

I credited you in my about page:
http://themagickbox.wordpress.com/who-am-i/Alexishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04925627765976740996noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5187636663015565979.post-87494704994040256182008-12-11T05:10:00.000-06:002008-12-11T05:10:00.000-06:00I'm a Ranger Babe ;) I love Janet Evanovich - I ev...I'm a Ranger Babe ;) I love Janet Evanovich - I even got to meet her!

For some otherworldly fun try the antics of a witch bounty hunter that lives with an undead vampire in Kim Harrison's novels - sounds crazy, yup it is!

Lisa Scottoline is great for suspense and mystery. I'm usually a Terry Pratchett kinda girlwhen I want to read something hunourous and since leaving the UK I have not read any of his stuff so I must catch up and get DH into the Disc World. He got me reading the M.Y.T.H. Inc series thought which is funny. I think I scrap too much LOL ... must get back to reading.Mumahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07320575798932393948noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5187636663015565979.post-23187468662264031642008-12-05T08:53:00.000-06:002008-12-05T08:53:00.000-06:00I agree with you about Morelli! Have you tried any of the "In Death" (you have to start with the first one, I think it's 'Naked in Death') series by J.D. Robb aka Nora Roberts? I'm hooked on those as well. Not as lol funny as Lula and Grandma Mazur but there's a bit of everything there, mystery, romance, some sly tongue in cheek, mostly from the minor characters and there's already a whole bunch of them out there. Roberts/Robb is very prolific, usually publishes 2 new Eve Dallas books a year. Plus I'm glad everyone is adding names - I get to investigate some new authors - usually I have to troll lists at Amazon - lol!pjoneilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07494161300915046212noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5187636663015565979.post-53080588118157625252008-12-04T21:55:00.000-06:002008-12-04T21:55:00.000-06:00For comedic romances you should try Susan Elizabet...For comedic romances you should try Susan Elizabeth Phillips. I love the Plum series, but I get sick of them all if I try to read them in order. There is only so much goofiness I can stand.

Susan Mallery is good too, however they are basic romances, not so cheezy as Harlequins.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5187636663015565979.post-16597157354503371082008-12-04T21:48:00.000-06:002008-12-04T21:48:00.000-06:00You have to realize that I am not familiar with an...You have to realize that I am not familiar with any of the authors/books you mentioned, but I love good books. I think most people have read (and possibly were assigned it to read it in school as I have taught it more than once) my very favorite book, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. No romance, but it is a classic story with some of the best characters ever written. And another classic and a love story is Dickens A Tale of Two Cities. And a book I want to read after having seen the movie is The Kite Runner. Hope you find more good books right up your alley in all these posts.grannymikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16776905888957564182noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5187636663015565979.post-80866382524877288192008-12-04T12:08:00.000-06:002008-12-04T12:08:00.000-06:00I too am going to have to go back to her books and...I too am going to have to go back to her books and try again.....hmmmmm, now intrigued, thanx. I just finished the shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella, after finding them during on of my many insomniaced'(yes, you may insert this word into vocabulary as well)weekend that I still suffer from job hangover. I am not a shopaholic, but thought they were rather amusing, and a light read!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01402418948349245229noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5187636663015565979.post-60501944939075862992008-12-04T11:34:00.000-06:002008-12-04T11:34:00.000-06:00I've picked up Janet Evanovich before, and somehow...I've picked up Janet Evanovich before, and somehow never gotten hooked, so I will have to try again!

I love to read, and once I get hooked on an author usually work my way through a series, or everything by that author quickly.

Here are some of my favorites:

Stuart Woods ... a good assortment of books. My favorite series is his Stone Barrington novels. He is a lawyer, but of course always finds trouble or someone to save. You can check out http://www.stuartwoods.com/ for the chronological order of the books.

Perri O'Shaughnessy - writes a series about a character named Nina Reilly who is a lawyer (hmm, I sense a theme) and lives in Rino. She has an ongoing relationship in the books that sees good times and bad, and usually represents the underdog, gets into a scrape or two.

Randy Wayne White ... this may not be up your alley, but the main character in this series of novels is Doc Ford. A "marine biologist" (read former government operative really trying to lead a quiet life) who lives on a stilt house in Florida. I really like the colorful characters, life around boats and a marina. Romance, hmm... there is always a woman involved, either to be saved, in distress, occasional love interest. Always a mystery to be solved.

Nicholas Evans - if you haven't read Horse Whisperer yet, you should. I also enjoyed Smoke Jumper.

Carl Hiiasen is just wacky! Skinny Dip was a favorite. Maybe lacking in the romance department.

Nelson DeMille - I go hot and cold on him. Sometimes his books are way to spy like and violent, but I really liked Plum Island. The Long Island setting for me was so enjoyable.Kathleenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15227920003467481847noreply@blogger.com
